We are delighted that the NDP’s Chandra Pasma has achieved victory in Thursday’s provincial election. This is a historic first and comes as a result of hard work and commitment from many people. Chandra impressed the community with her knowledge and engagement. After her victory she said, “The people of Ottawa West-Nepean chose hope today. They said no to Doug Ford’s cuts and privatization.”

New Democrats in Ottawa West-Nepean selected Chandra Pasma as their NDP candidate for the 2022 provincial election

At their online nomination meeting, New Democrats in Ottawa West-Nepean selected Chandra Pasma as their NDP candidate for the 2022 provincial election. Chandra is an anti-poverty activist and Canadian Union of Public Employees policy researcher.

In 2018, Chandra came within 175 votes of winning Ottawa West-Nepean. Unfortunately, the riding has not been well served by the Ford government and residents are eager for change.

Special guest and Leader of the Ontario NDP, Andrea Horwath, praised Chandra Pasma for her energy, her innovative ideas and commitment to the community. “She's an amazing candidate. And with your help, she’s going to be the next MPP for Ottawa West-Nepean. “
