Join the Ottawa West-Nepean NDP for a spaghetti dinner and an evening of discussion about women in politics.
Enjoy a delicious spaghetti dinner (gluten free and vegetarian/vegan
options available), while our power panel of Theresa Kavanagh (city
councilor for Bay Ward), Evelyn Gigantes (former Member of Provincial
Parliament for Ottawa Centre), and Kathleen Monk (former Director of
Communications to Jack Layton) talk about what it's like to be a woman
working in politics, how things have changed (or not), and what the
future might hold.
Tickets are $50 (regular) and $25 (unwaged/low income). For the regular tickets, a federal tax receipt of $25 will be provided. You can purchase tickets on Eventbrite here, Contact us at email@example.com if you need more information.
Proceeds from the evening will go to the Ottawa West-Nepean Federal NDP to support our campaign in the upcoming federal election.
The Ontario NDP is having its biannual convention this year in Hamilton from June 14th to 16th. Our riding association got together to choose our delegation on Monday evening at the Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre.
Our riding association president, Alex Cullen, presided over the meeting, which selected six delegates, one youth delegate and two alternates to attend convention. They will be joined by our three Provincial Council delegates.
Over 50 people attended the OWN NDP Forum on the Future of Work on February 19th at Algonquin College, hearing from Guy Caron, Parliamentary Leader of the NDP & MP Rimouski (who subbed in for Charlie Angus, who was dealing with SNC-Lavalin business for the NDP), Angella MacEwen (CUPE) and Emily Norgang (CLC). A lively, informative session!
Thanks to Chandra Pasma of the OWN NDP for organizing this and to Philippe Parisot of the Algonquin College NDP Club for co-hosting.
